Why didn`t the elders want the true story of Jesus` resurrection to get out? The elders didnt want the true story of Jesus' resurrection to go out because they were very much ashamed of themselves. They hadnt believed and also made others believe that Jesus wasnt God. They didnt want others to accuse them for misguiding them and their faith. therefore they wanted to keep it a secret.
