"I and the Father are one." ( John 10:30).

"Hear O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one." ( Mark 12:29).

Therefore, if I can know Jesus, I can also know God. The more deeply I get to know Jesus, the more deeply I will know God the Father because Jesus reveals who the Father is:

"All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." (Luke 10:22).

I also need to know Jesus because He provided the way for me to go to Heaven because He died for me. Jesus not only provided the way for us to go to the Heaven-the only way-but  He actually is the way. Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

I need to know Jesus because, if I know Him, He said He would prepare a place for me in Heaven: ". . . I go and prepare a place for you. I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, you may be also" (John 14:3).

I need to know Jesus because He provides the only way for my sins to be erased. He was and is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29).

I need to know Jesus because life down here is hard and I need His help to get through it every day.  Jesus, being God and having also been a man, is the only one to understand me and to be able to help me.
