anyone who believes in God is a brother of jesus, be he a blood relative or not.and in the same way he would reject a true blood relative who does not accept God

Those who hear the word of God are the mother and brothers of Jesus. Jesus is giving importance to obedience in the word of God rather than blood relations. If we obey the word of God, we are in the family of Jesus.
