Jesus asked the Blind man what do you want me to do. What do you want Jesus to do for you?
Really, I would like to know if he would ask me that question? I would hope in my heart deeply that he cares and loves me. If I felt certain of his love I would ask for nothing because then I know me and my family's needs would be met, happiness would be in all of our hearts, (although suffering is a great indicator of being like Jesus, I think we would all like to be happy sometimes) and then in the end to have lived a christian life with faith to lead me into heaven to be with my family. Amen.
Jesus shows compassion for the few (the two blind men), even though the multitude following him rebuke them and urge Jesus to continue on, and ignore them. Jesus' compassion extends to each and every individual, and therefore, he stops, touches their eyes, and gives them sight. Thinking that in the arrival of Jesus on the donkey, the donkey is refreed to as a her. In Latin the word anima is feminine. I dont know in Greek or aramaic. What i`d ask? to keep my soul always veiled in humbleness. That is the key that leads to the opening of the eyes of the soul. Like for the blind man. Why do you think the multitude rebuked the two blind men, telling them to be quiet?
As they went out from
Jericho, a great multitude followed him. Behold, two blind men sitting by
the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out,
"Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!" The multituderebuked them,
telling them that they should be quiet, but they cried out even more,
"Lord, have mercy on us, you son of David!"
Jesus stood still,
and called them, and asked, "What do you want me to
do for you?" They told him,
"Lord, that our eyes may be opened."
Jesus, being moved
with compassion, touched their eyes; and immediately their eyes received
their sight, and they followed him.
