Why was the king so angry when those invited did not come to the wedding banquet? What point was Jesus making with this parable?
Because the ones that were invited knew about Jesus and his love but they chose to reject him and what he could do for them. The person with no wedding clothing on was a person that say they know and have Jesus in their heart but they really don`t. But Jesus knows and he will punish those that are like that if they don`t repent.

It reminds me of how the chosen people denied Christ...wanted Him Crucified....and the others like us Gentiles came to Christ....accepted Him...not to say that all Jews and Gentiles alike accepted Jesus...but I think it is a lot like in general....God has made provisions for us all...and will we accept or not...

The Wedding
I would be upset too knowing that i made all this preparation and those i invited did not show up, all this money spent all this time setting up and putting things together who won`t be angry. The point is if you are living for Jesus live for Jesus cause when he comes you should be ready cause you wil be very dispointed on that day when he prepare the secound wedding feast and he said are you ready to come to the wedding, better say yes this time or else you will never be invited again.

Why was the king so angry when those invited did not come to the wedding banquet? What point Jesus was making with this parable?
They disrespected the king by choosing money and their own good over his invitation. Jesus referred to how we are acting towards God`s will; in other words, we always put God after our own desires. In Matthew`s gospel, Jesus said ...seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you Matthew 6:33

Why was the king so angry when those invited did not come to the wedding banquet? What point was Jesus making with this parable?
The King was let down by His invited Guests while he made a lot of sacrifices to kill His oxen and fatlings and many feasting arrangements. Jesus is making a point here to show us the christians that the time of banquet is here and if we ask for excuses we shall be left out of the great feasting in heaven and if we are not ready to get dressed in the wedding gown we are likely to be refused entrance to the feasting area. The wedding dress here means the faithful sign of Christ which is engraved in every Christian by baptism.

Why was the king so angry when those invited did not come to the wedding banquet? What point was Jesus making with this parable?
the king must have gotten angry because he invited his own people but they turned him down even though they had to pay nothing. Jesus was making the point that He ''God`s kingdom'' came unto his own people but his own people neglected him, and so the door is open for all people in all places as long as they give in to the invitation. thank you!

Why was the king so angry when those invited did not come to the wedding banquet? What point was Jesus making with this parable?
Cuase they turned down the invitation the invitation to the Banquet of salvation. So proud or selfcentered that they put themselves above God? some verylikely yes. Others probably did not understand. But it is never too late. Like the opening of the gates to all those who wish to come shows. free wil. The Lord opens the door: do i want to walk in? The Banquet of salvation is not for just a few chosen, a refernce to the ones who seemed to be the selected people the Jews some of which did not aknolwdge Jesus as the Son of God? the poor the rejected...those who are pshysically dirty but - white dress - their souls are poor or wishing to be purified by the Blood of Our Lord. The wedding clothing i take is that humility and not as one might thing those elegant clothing the rich wear. How otherwise could he stand out in a crowd of beggars?

Why was the king so angry when those invited did not come to the wedding banquet? What point was Jesus making with this parable?
The King was angry because of his people's wickedness, several times God have been sending his Prophets into the world to warned us of the danger ahead, but we did not listen rather doing our own earthly things and worldly lust; firstly, God chosen the children of Israel, but they disappointed him, yet He keep sending the prophets to them but they did not listen to them rather killing them. Even if one look at what is happening today those claimed to be serving God some of them are after their own business; in fact look at around you and watch very well the kind of preaching you will hear, prosperity, healing, miracles, no more preaching of salvation, repentances, forgiveness, HOLINESS without no one shall see the LORD. But what did the LORD said of them, ?that day I will tell them, depart from me I don't know you, ye hypocrite' However, now we had what happened and spiritually seeing what will happen, Jesus is telling us to prepare ourselves and we should not be like those people so that we will be counted worthy to enter into the banquet hall!.

The Parable of the Wedding Banquet

Jesus answered and spoke again in parables to them, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come. Again he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "Behold, I have made ready my dinner. My oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!"' But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise, and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them. When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited weren't worthy. Go therefore to the intersections of the highways, and as many as you may find, invite to the marriage feast.' Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests. But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn't have on wedding clothing, and he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?' He was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and throw him into the outer darkness; there is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.' For many are called, but few chosen."
