What was it about Jesus` answer that caused the Pharisees and Herodians to marvel?
The Pharisees new Jesus was honest and taught the truth of God but were puting Jesus to test. With what Jesus answered, they were all marveled because Jesus told them to give to God what belongs to God and Ceasar what belong to Ceasar. Because of the pharissees ` wickedness , they run away as they new that Jesus may review alot of their wickeness. Therefore brothers and Sisters, let us give God what belongs to God and that we should not put God to TEST.

What was it about Jesus` answer that caused the Pharisees and Herodians to marvel?
The Pharisees and Herodians wickedly tried to entrap and question the authority of Jesus ...Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth.. By Jesus` response, He demonstrated his authority. The denarius coin was issued/made by Caesar and Caesar can ask for it back. God is so much greater. God created the universe and we/everything are God`s.

What was it about Jesus` answer that caused the Pharisees and Herodians to marvel?
The Pharisees expected Jesus to make a choice between allegiance to Caesar and God. His answer says that Caesar is concerned about taxes and money, so give money to Caesar. The tax money was created by Caesar, therefore give it to Him. God is concerned not with money, but our salvation. Give of yourself to God, for you belong to Him.

Paying Taxes to Caesar

Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how they might entrap him in his talk. They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter who you teach, for you aren't partial to anyone. Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, "Why do you test me, you hypocrites? Show me the tax money."
They brought to him a denarius.
He asked them, "Whose is this image and inscription?"
They said to him, "Caesar's."
Then he said to them, "Give therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
When they heard it, they marveled, and left him, and went away.
