| What kind of clothes did Jesus wear? |
Jesus probably wore a type of rope around his middle, not a "sash". It would likely be woven, but simple, with some threads at each end. Hasidic Jews, for centuries, have worn black silk woven string ropes around their waist when praying. It's to separate the upper, more holy parts of the body, the heart and mind, from the lower parts, involving waste disposal and sexual activity and lust. It's called a gartel. Jesus would not have worn a gartel made out of silk, but of humbler rope material.By: Aaron Cohane Category: What kind of clothes did Jesus wear? |

| What kind of clothes did Jesus wear? |
He wore meek clothing, and had a kind, meek spirit. He was here to bring glory to his father, God. He died and resurrected for us, not himself. He led a selfless life, born in a lowly manger, with all the other sacrificial creatures. He performed many miracles, so the world, and all of its garments would have been at His disposal, if He wished. He was sinless, so His clothing covered nothing shameful, therefore simplicity was His choice.By: William Tillotson Category: What kind of clothes did Jesus wear? |
