Jesus life was an example of what believers would have to endure on our walk with him. Jesus dies for our sins. 2 Corinthians 5:21. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made righteousness of God in him.” The suffering Jesus underwent speaks more of the hatred and cruelty of humanity than it does of God's punishment for sin. Satan’s absolute hatred of God and Jesus was surely a part of the motivation behind the relentless torture and abuse. Jesus' suffering is the ultimate example of how sinful man feels toward a holy God. It was our sins that made Him cried out “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” In the Old Testament we read Isaiah 53:3,5 especially predict Jesus’ suffering, “He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.” This was all because of God love for the world. I don't know how Jesus took all the pain and suffering. Being God, he could have escaped, or probably used an alternative method. But, He suffered for us so that we could be saved. He came in a human form and suffered more and injustly. But, all for us. To restore our connections with the Heavenly Father. Thank you Jesus and thank you Father for all this. | If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss? |
I would discuss God divine purpose for my life, how should I pray, forgiveness, love, and my mission. Just worship him in his beauty and give him the praise and thanks for having dinner with me. By: Stephen Brice Category: Invite Me to be Close to You |

 | "Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) |
No, Jesus knew that he was going to die. Jesus life was an example for us to live by and his death was that so we as believers would have a chance of eternal life. By the cleansing of the temple he was simply letting us know that the purpose of the Temple is for prayer and worship. We are reminded in Isaiah 56:7 “for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.” However, it was being use for secular purposes and this displeases God when we change that purpose into a materialistic purpose to satisfy our human desires. God always wants us to put him first in every thing that we do. He does not want us to change the law he has commanded for the church. These activities were no part of what God authorized the church to do, so Jesus just wanted us to remember that he would cast out anyone who violates God’s purpose for the church like he cast out the money changers out of the temple. The temple cleansing is a perfect example of what Jesus is doing in the hearts of His believers these days. It is our responsibility as the Bride of Christ to make men holy and bring them into the Holy of Holies. It grieves Jesus to see that these men were exploiting the house of God for their own marketing scheme. Unfortunately, today the church is still being exploited. As children of the God we were given the grace to reconcile each non-believer to the Father. See Eph 2:5, 8 and Heb 12:28. Christ died for our sins. John 15:13-14 “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” Even then, Jesus was letting his followers know that his death was unavoidable. Jesus was doing things that were right. Even though they would have provoked more enemies, but HE did what was right. HE knew what was going to happen but was not afraid till the last moment. Thank you for helping us. By: Payal Arya Category: Timeline - Final 1 Week |
