Why did Jesusī penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
When we sin, we suffer physically and emotionally. And so does the person who we may have sinned against. I believe in order for Jesus to pay the penalty for sin, all areas had to be covered. For man to be clear of the charges and begin anew, Jesus had to suffer for all areas that sin encompass. Otherwise, there would only have been a partial cover. He beared it all.

Why did Jesusī penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Jesus' had to endure both physical & emotioanl pain as well as spiritual separation because he is both God & human. God can't abide sin. When we sin, we become spiritually separated from God. Jesus was spiritually separated from his Father God because he was bearing all the sins of the world. In Genesis, we see the 1st blood sacrafice for sin. God killed a ram to provide coverings for Adam & Eve after they sinned. This is a type or foreshadowing of Jesus' suffering physical death on the cross for our sins so that we wouldn't have to experience it for ourselves. Whenever a human is tortured like Jesus was before his crucifixion & on the cross, it produces physical pain as wel as emotional pain. The body's reaction to being hurt is pain & the mind's reaction is emotional pain. We should be willing to lay down our lives for others as Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us. Thank you God for your Son Jesus & thank you Jesus for dying on the cross that we might have eternal life when we ask forgiveness of our sins & accept you as our Lord & Savior.

Why did Jesusī penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
From my own point of view, the physical and emotional pains were for mankind in general to actually see, feel the impact of His suffering and to truly understand that He came to serve mankind and not to be served. Jesus is the mediator or acts like a link between God and man. Spiritual separation would have meant separating us (man) from God and at the same time leaving his mission of coming here on earth unaccomplished because He came that we may have life and have it in abundance.

Jesus penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain because for it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.

For Christ also died for sins once for all,the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit.

It is done so, for the mankind to realize and visibly seen how HE loved and  ransomed  us from SIN though HE was mocked, Jesus still there for us.

Spritual separation from God most of us doesn't known it,It is just between GOD and HIS son Jesus. so, I think there's a need to show to mankind how it feels being executed for us to remember HIM how HE died for our sins.

This was to show that Jesus would show us how much He would suffer for us. We should then be thankful for His great suffering as a way to show how much He loved us, and He even though is God, would suffer in pain like how a normal man would feel.

By showing us this ultimate sacrifice, we will then acknowledge His grace, love and greatness as a man of God.

Jesus suffered physical and emotional pain because even though he was the Son of God he was also at the time of his death on the cross human.

Anytime a human being suffers we feel both physical and emotional pain, that is why I believe that his "penalty for sin" had to include not only spiritual pain but physical and emotional.

Jesus was God manifested in flesh on earth.  Man, because of Adam's disobedience, goes through physical and emotional pain due to the original sin.  Since Jesus was in flesh and came to bair the sins of all, consecuently, the physical and emotional pain attributed due to sin had to also be manifested in Christ.  And due to Christ sacrifice, the spiritual healing was manifested in the revival of Christ's death after his crucifixion

It was the BLOOD HIS shed blood cleansed sin once and for all so he had to endure the physical pain as well as emotional pain.  I THANK YOU LORD FOR ALL YOU ENDURED SO THAT WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE ETERNALLY.
