Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Jesus penalty for "sin" heed to include physical and emotional pain, because HE suffered outside the gate for the remission of our sins, so that our spiritual life will not be sepertated from THE ALMIGHTY GOD, as HE suffered for us mankind.

eing juman, Jesus also experienced physical and emotional pain as consequence of sin. That is the reason He took over the consequence which shoul have been our punishment. jesus related to human pain as we relate to the pain He suffered to take our plae. Not everyone can relate or comprehend spiritual separation from God but all know and have experienced  and suffered physical and emotional pain. We know waht the pain is like to be physically beaten, torture and emotionally rejected and humiliated in a lesser degree. It was important for the  purpose Jesus was sent for for us to understand how much God loves us so we can believe and accept the truth  and be able to return to our true home in heaven.

Even Jesus is the Son of God, He still suffered the  pain as a human being. I think, this would  show to us how he loves us and He is willing to pay for our sins.

It had to be physical and spirtual because we as humans not only have the spirt but we also have physical feelings. Jesus let them do what did to him physically so that whatever pain we ever felt or feel we know Jesus understands. Also it was the worst death ever, which shows his significant sacrifice.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
No! Jesus  knows His  destiny. He only tries to demonstrate that He is hurt and for the people to realize their wongdoings...Thanks be to God

No Jesus was not trying to incite His death. Jesus walked the path of His life like any human being but the great love of the Father and His great love for the Father was within Him that led Him to want to do the will of the Father in every circumstance that crossed His way. Being obedient to God was all He did. He had a mission which He came to fulfill like each one of us have our own purpose in life. He showed us in His words and ways how to accomplish this by having faith in the Father, love towards others and hope in ourselves to succeed. His death was incited by the sins of man who rejected Him as predicted in the scriptures.

I believe that Jesus was doing what he chose to do, for us. He moved in ways that was smart, strong & he was determined. His death was what he came on the earth for so he was doing what he came do to. He let nobody stop him. I love Jesus.

No...Jesus already knew what is predestined to happen...HIS actions in the temple and HIS reactions to the leaders reveals only the human nature in HIM.
