Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Punishment is felt and understood when it hurts and make us think twice to sin again. URL: http://www.jesuscentral.com By: Charis Alexandrou Category: Timeline & Words - Final Hours of Execution

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
It was God's perfect plan. He sent his only begotten son for the salvation of the whole world. Thank you Lord! By: josie bueno Category: Timeline - Final 1 Week

"Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
I believe Jesus accomplished each of these purposes. He lived these purposes to the fullest expression so that we could know Him. By: Kathy Hayes Category: Statements of Purpose

"Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
To Demonstrate God’s Love "For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, that everyone who believes in him should not die, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior." - (Jesus quoted by John 3:16-17)
To Bring Good News 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has chosen me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed and announce that the time has come when the Lord will save his people.' - (Jesus describes himself by quoting Isaiah, as recorded by Luke 4:18-19)
To Sacrifice Himself for Others "The Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" - (Jesus quoted by Matthew 20:28)
Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?
From the beginning He has set a standard regarding the way in which we should approach each other. Perhaps the one item that was not specifically stated, but I am sure was intended, was to love one another. By stating this as a commandment He summed up all the commandments relating to the interaction between ourselves and others. No where before had it been stated in such a succinct way. If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
In a one-on-one meal with Jesus, apart from being in awe and fear of His perfection, I would like to discuss His perfect will. I realise I am so blind to what He has in mind and has always had in mind from the start of time. I realise my sinful nature and yet I also realise it is through the way in which He uses my past and present to shape the future that it will always fall into His perfect plan. I often fear that I have fallen short of what He could have expected from me, but I also realise that His perfect love has forgiven and forgotten my sinful ways once I have asked for forgiveness and repented. I would like to know how to serve Him in a more perfect way. I would like to know how to align my will with His will. I realise that my selfishness stands in my way of Him achieving His perfect will in my life. I would like to gain confidence in the alignment between my past, present and future and His perfect will. If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
First of all I will thank Jesus for giving me a chance to dine with him. And I will thank him for the gift of life and ask him sorry and forgiveness for my sin, that brought him so much suffering on the cross to death for my salvation. Thank you Lord!
