Why did Jesus invest so much in Peter even though He knew that Peter would deny Him? God is all perfect. When He means unconditional love, it applies to Peter as well. Peter's denial is a weakness trespass in human perspective. But in God's perspective, how could you have been delivered if he was strong?. But he would be a sinner if he didn't repent. Washing of feet was a sign of this trespass on how to cleanse it. And therefore he was cleansed of his trespass. His mercy is overflowing to unlimited and unconditional to all of us. The investment of the Lord to Peter was manifest even after His ascention when Peter could raise the dead.
