Why was Zaccheaus so joyful when Jesus asked to stay at his house? In the eyes of the public, Zaccheaus was a cheater and a turncoat, whom many despised and viewed as a traitor, a sinner and unworthy the Lord's visit. So when he saw that the Lord would pay him a visit, he had every reason to be happy, and this caused him to understand that he was not an outcast and it led to his repentance.
