What do you find astonishing about this centurion (leader of Roman soldiers)?
What I find astonishing with this centurion is that he was a gentile who had not been brought up to know a loving God and yet he fully believed in everything about Jesus Christ. He believed in the living God and he even went to the extent of building a synagogue for the Jews, a sign of believing that there is a loving living God.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
If i had a one -on-one meal with Jesus, i may not have much to discuss with the Lord only to ask him to forgive me my sins and make me an instrument of love so that i may follow His way of life and do as the He will teach me to do. Otherwise i may not have anything else other than Love all mankind and all that was created by the almighty father Our Lord.

Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?

Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment because

  • He came himself into this world to redeem us from our sins by suffering and dying so that our sins may be forgiven. There  Christ loved us so much hence he died for so that our sins may be forgiven.
  • If I say I love God whom i am not seeing and yet hate may brother whom i am saying everyday then i am liar because man was created in the image of God, and through man the glory of God is manifested in the world. Therefore loving one another is loving God hence a new commandment "Love One Another"
  • Assist one another but do not expect a reward for whatever you do to the other person as God will reward in us Heaven. Hence when Jesus say we need to be servants to others hence providing support and service to those who need the service.
