What was Jesus feeling and thinking while he was mocked and humiliated in front of others? Recall Jesus` own teachings (Matt 5:11), "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." I think Jesus was feeling pity for those who were mocking and humiliating Him for they knew not what they were doing. He knew the meaning of all what was happening to Him; it meant that He was paying a ransom for the sins of the world. It was painful yes, but he knew He had done the will of His Father who had sent Him to die for the world.
