compassionate -helping the hurting i would say compassion is the sympahatic pity and concern for others suffering or in misfortune,that is why Jesus said he felt compassionate to them because the people of God looked like a sheep without a shepherd.

Jesus emphasizes the phrase "in my name" when refering to the miracle and giving a cup of water. What does it mean to do something in Jesus` name? This actually means he is the only one with the powres and once you conclude in his name then every thing will be done as required.
