From my own perspective, I think Jesus did not want to perform miracles outside Israel and yet he ended up healing this woman's daughter for one reason. Although He had come for Jews to receive the good news, even the Gentiles will also receive the good news if they open their hearts and keep on pressing for salvation and for his mercies. This then shows us that His salvation is for both Jew and Gentile alike.
