This angered Jesus. Any practice that interferes with worshipping God should be stopped forthwith. Jesus accused the leaders because their hunger for more power, money, and status had made them lose sight of God, and their blindness was spreading to the whole nation, and had to be rebuked there and there. So there is no way that Jesus incited the Sanihendrin and the Pharisees to crucify him.
