I believe the poor people are not poor because they want to, they are always people with abilities but lack the opportunity to change their own lives.

This is want Jesus is looking at, where these people are, they are always under looked and never given opportunity to do something... Jesus shows us that we need to love, he says, whosoever welcomes a child welcomes me, but not me does he welcome but the one who sent me. he goes ahead to say when you call for a luncheon remember to also invite the poor, lame, blind crippled, because when you do so they cant repay you, but your father in heaven has seen your deeds and rewards you according to him riches in glory.
