The Bible says "Now if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away, behold everything has become new."

 One of the worst things that has ever happened to man is the fall of Adam. When Adam fell, he no longer could walk in the Spirit. He no longer could know the will of God. One of the differences between man and animals is that God created animals with everything that is they are self contained. An ant does not need to be told where food is, it has systems in its body that are able to detect where food is. Man is not like that. God created man such that it is only when man seeks the will of God that he will succeed. The reason why Jesus came to redeem us back to God is that we might start walking in the Spirit again. When we walk in the Spirit, we know what God's will is for our lives. 

When we get born again, our perspective on life and its issues changes. We stop thinking like the world. We no longer desire the things of the flesh, we are now concerned with spiritual things. We no longer direct ourselves, we are now led by the spirit of God. We do not desire to please our flesh, our desire is now to please God. The glory of God rests upon us. 

God no longer sees the sin in our lives, for it has been washed by the blood of Jesus. A transformation has taken place in our lives and we are never the same again. This is what happens when we receive Jesus. We become God's children. What God has becomes ours. We walk by faith in the Son of God. We are heirs with Christ Jesus. We are never failures again, for we are more that conqurers. We are never afraid of the devil or his agents for we are secure in our God. We don't depend on ourselves for now God has become our shepherd.

When we get born again, we also change our friends. The people who used to be our friends no longer are qualified for our goals are now different from theirs. We now start associating with God's people. We desire to read the word of God. We desire God to speak to  us. Our lifestyle changes. This is the best thing that has ever happened to man - the new birth!
