What was Jesus trying to teach about giving (amount, motive, attitute)? According to my understanding Jesus was trying to teach us not only on offering but what ever we do lets do it from our heart.Let the love of God be pushing us but never do anything for us to be noticed by others or to be appreciated by people.

"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?" To be loved by God according to Christ is when God Comes into someones heart and makes a home in him or her, Since God loved the world so much and He have His only Son Jesus Christ as a saviour of our lives, the love of God gets a meaning or becomes a reality when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, Receiving Jesus Christ brings a meaning and reality of God's love into our lives otherwise we might think that God doesnt love us and he wants us to suffer which isn't true.
