What are the characteristics that allow you to recognize that someone is one with the Father and with Jesus?

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Because Jesus was both God and human he had to experience what all human beings experience in order to redeem mankind. We are able to endure both spiritual and physical suffering when we ask jesus to strengthen us becasuse he went through these and he understands very well what it means.By undergoing both spiritual and human suffering Jesus suffering and death became ultimate and perfect redemption for human kind.

How can we experience the peace Jesus promised when we are in difficult circumstances?

Because in all circumstances we know that Jesus is in control so there's no need to worry. He loves us sooo much. I wish I can love Him as much.
