Why do you think Peter denied knowing Jesus? He was afraid that he would suffer the same fate as Jesus - crucifiction. There are so many times when I too deny Jesus when I don't stand up for what is right or when I laugh at a joke that isn't pleasing to Him. Each time I sin, I too am denying knowledge of His ways and crucify Him again.
