We are asked everyday to die for Christ, i.e. put to death our fleshly desires for our own good and the love of Christ. However, I am such a weakling and continue to sin. Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future? Jesus died for each and every one of us and He does not want to lose a single child of His. Therefore He tells us to watch and keep ready at all times. We should try to live as true Christians, doing our daily tasks, caring for the less fortunate, in whatever way we can and trying to walk in His steps for our lives are in His hands. We could die today or tomorrow or live to 90 or even just drive out our house and get killed on the road. We don't really need to know when end-times will be, just ensure that we ourselves don't miss out on eternal life.

Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future? we need to be ready always even at the moment because we does not know when He is coming.when we predict the future we might engage in sin thinking that there is time to repent.
