What final decision does Jesus make here in discussion with his "Abba Father" (daddy)? Jesus was not trying to rebel or trying to get out of the task that was ahead of him. He was aware of what doing the Father's will would cost him. He understood the suffering he was about to encounter, and he did not want to have to endure the horrible experience. But He prayed, "Not what I will, but what you will." That was total submission to the authority of his heavenly Father as he prepared himself for the final task that was ahead of him, to free you and me from the power of sin.
