Why did Jesus answer their question with a question? Why didn`t he just say that his authority came from God?
The religious leaders asked Jesus who gave him the authority to chase away the merchants and money changers. Their question was a trap; if he had said his authority came from God, they would have accused him of blasphemy; if he had said his authority was his own, they would have dismissed him as a fanatic. To expose their real motives, Jesus countered their question with a question about John the Baptist. The leaders' silence proved that they were not interested in the truth, but simply wanted to get rid of Him because they felt as though he was undermining their authority.

Jesus taught that both believing and forgiving are key to effective prayer. Why do you think they are important?

Believing and forgiving are key to effective prayer in that when you whole heartedly believe and forgive others of their wrongs, you will be free from all the impediments that might hold you back from fellowship with God. God wants us to have a clear mind and heart in order to serve him. Once we approach him with clean and clear minds, he will grant our requests.

Jesus was angered by religious people inappropriately taking people`s money (robber`s den). Why did Jesus take such dramatic action and not just condemn with words?
Jesus became angry but he did not sin. There is a place for righteous indignation, christians are right to be upset about sin and injustice and should take a stand against them. Unfortunately, believers are often passive about these important issues and instead get angry over personal insults and petty irritations. Make sure your anger is directed toward the right issues.
