Jesus knew he would be killed in Jerusalem, and still he led the way. What characteristics does Jesus demonstrate here? He was determined to save the world once and for all, and he knew his mission and suffering in the hands of sinners very well.

Jesus felt love for this rich man, and guided him to focus on treasures in heaven instead of treasures on earth. What is heavenly treasure? When we obey and do the will of God whilst we are still here on earth, we will be storing heavenly treasure for ourselves; and when eternity comes, we will enjoy iternal life which is the heavenly treasure.
