639 entries for this category: From my own perspective, I think Jesus did not want to perform miracles outside Israel and yet he ended up healing this woman's daughter for one reason. Although He had come for Jews to receive the good news, even the Gentiles will also receive the good news if they open their hearts and keep on pressing for salvation and for his mercies. This then shows us that His salvation is for both Jew and Gentile alike. Healing and multiplying food did not convice the religious leaders. What sign would have convinced you of Jesus as God? If it were me, just His word of mouth would have been enough.

Why do you think Jesus looked up to heaven and then sighed before the healing? He was acknowledging His heavenly father from where his power to heal came from, that is why he looked up to heaven. He would be communicating with his father so that His powers will flow through Him without any hinderance.
