Women occupied no position worth mentioning but here they are in the lineage of Jesus. Mentioning scandal tainted women in the lineage of Jesus was a sign that Jesus came for all. Moreover Ruth and Rahab and Bathsheba were foreigners (Non jews). this was meant to reflect the universility of Jesus Jesus in his own words said it's the sick that need a doctor. Their heroics Rahab saving the spies, Ruth sticking by her mother in law. Given the scandals associated with the women Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and the wife of Uriah (Bathsheba), why do you think they were mentioned in the geneology of Jesus?

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) Jesus knew he must suffer and die before since he was God inthe flesh but full with Grace.Jesus said he came to fulfil the scripture . he empahsis on the sinners because sin is what separete us from God it hungers him and seeks to forgive us each time we sinned against him.Gods love is evidence in the death of Jesus christ.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?) Jesus always talked about his death towards the end of his stay in the world. He always told his desciples of how he would be beaten, crucified, die and his resurrection. this was to prepare his desciples for the hard times they were about to face in the abscence of their master.This is also a warning to all of us who are born again. the end times are at hand. lets tighten our belts with the word of God, know the truth so that we are not caught unawares. we must be either hot or cold but not both. lets not be lukeworms, Jesus is coming back soon.
