What was Jesus trying to teach the disciples? Note: Jesus left twelve baskets full when he fed the 5000 people on the Israel side (Israel had 12 main regions or tribes).

Jesus was trying to teach His disciples not to behave the way the Parisees do because they did not have the inwardly conviction but were worshiping God outwardly. He wanted His disciples to belive and seek the Kingdom of God with all their hearts and soul.

Those baskets , (twelve and seven) are holy numbers representing the house of israel, and the glory of God's Kingdom, to which we are called. The kingdom is earmarked by enormous abundance. The pharisees knew the law, but blindfolded the house of israel. The Herods represented the earthly kingdom, full of scarcity and limitations.

Healing and multiplying food did not convice the religious leaders. What sign would have convinced you of Jesus as God?

I do not think outwardly signs would convince me of Jesus as God. For what I can say is that ionce I experience inward spiritual healing within my soul that would have been enough. But that can't do, I need also to experience the power of Jesus when I can, through him cast out the devils in His mighty name.
