Why did Judas betray Jesus with a kiss?

Juda betrayed Jesus with a kiss because he (Juda) didnt want to be seen as the betrayer. He used a kissed as a mean of sign language and feared not to be associated with the arrest of Jesus.

Why did Judas betray Jesus with a kiss?
To the disciples, as indeed in all our born-again fellowships, kisses and embraces are really normal form of greetings. I do it alot to people familiar to me. One can even mistake it, but this is the strong cord and bond characteristic of fellows in a ship. We are one in spirit, and human. However, a kiss of betrayal is formideable, since it is meant as a stab in the back, and such is characteristic of imposters, hypocrites, introverts, and all pretenders. They are evil, trying to look good. Jesus had to put up with that fact, purely because according to the prophets, and the scriptures,  it had to be so by God's design.

Why did not the Father let the cup pass and spare Jesus the pain of the crucifiction?
The battle between Satan and God for man's souls was hitting the climax, and to spare the only son of God, was the main target of Satan, and this would have handed victory to satan. Victory belongs to our God, and the death of Jesus even on the cross, would deliver satan's lasting defeat, and redeem mankind. I am replenished, redeemed, and delivered from satan's bondage by that blood shed on the cross. Hallelujah to the Father that He did not withdraw the death of Jesus. We too need not succumb to the fear of death. Ugandan Martyrs were spot on.
