Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die?

His death was his mission, and his ressurrection was the ultimate victory over any powers of death, satan, etc. His ressurrection would be the ultimate encouragement and strength to the believers. It would be the new foundation of God's Kingdom on earth.

Why is it OK with God to pay the one who worked all day the same amount paid to the one who worked only an hour?

He is the king. He is love. The payment of 1 denarii, as a days wage was agreed upon by the first workers, and God honored his agreement. To the others, God of justice gave them the offer according to His riches in glory, as there was no agreed (fixed) ammount. As Almighty, he is free to follow his hearts desire.

Why did Jesus tell the rich man to sell all his possessions before coming to follow Him?

That was the best approach to the rich who value their wealth more than God. Jesus wanted a perfect solution for the rich young man, ie: to store for himself treasures in heaven, and then to follow him. Jesus also wanted to teach a lesson that inheriting eternal life is not just about keeping the ten Commandments, or being loaded with earthly treasurers, but about love,compassion 4 de impoverished, commitment tofollow Jesus, and being heavenly minded. No wonder the lad went away sad.
