FORGIVENESS

There is an old adage that says, “To err is human, to forgive divine”. This is exactly right!

What does it mean to err? It means to make a mistake or to wander off of a direct course.

When we sin against God; we have wandered off His right way which is narrow, and we have missed the mark. However, the Bible tells us that all people have sinned or missed the mark.

The Bible says that all have fallen short of the glory of God. This means that we have erred from God's excellence and His perfection.

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

That is why it is divine to forgive. True, pure forgiveness is not possible for a human being without God's help. We humans are basically selfish, revengeful and unforgiving in the natural.

It takes the “super” natural power of God to forgive. Then you may say, “Then what is our part in forgiveness?” Ours is the crucial part and the initial impetus.

Forgiveness, for a Christian is in a decision. We must decide to forgive or to hold on to an offense.

The sooner we decide to forgive; the sooner the Lord can start the healing process in our hearts and lives.

We suffer offenses on a regular basis, and so it is imperative for each one of us to know the process for overcoming unforgiveness in the Name of Jesus Christ.

The Lord has provided the answer, it is His blood. His blood covers every sin and offense, not only from us toward others but also offenses toward us from our worse enemies.

How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.

Being forgiven increases one's love for God in measure of the sins in one's life that are forgiven. I believe the more sins one has, the more gratitude one feels for the forgiveness hence more love for the forgiver. It is amazing to see that GOD gave his best, His Son, so that we sinners could have enternal life.He suffered so we could be forgiven when we repent. GOD must love us so much to forgive us. I would love that one who can forgive me all the sins that I have and the more he forgives me the more love I would feel for HIM.

Why were the Jews so angry that Jesus claimed to exist before Abraham was born?
Their stubbornness of heart blocked them from perceiving the truth in Jesus' word, and beholding the diety of Christ. Their understanding was corrupted by the tradition which was inherited from the scriptures, especially Moses and the Prophets. They didn't see Christ as the fulfilment of the Promises. Therefore this claim by Jesus of being what he was, was seen as arrogance and blasphemy, and so angered the Jews.
