Jesus emphasizes the phrase "in my name" when refering to the miracle and giving a cup of water. What does it mean to do something in Jesus` name?
Because He commanded us to: Whatever you do or say, let it be in Jesus' name. This name has all the authority in heaven and on earth. There is no other name under heaven whereby we shall be saved. At the name of Jesus, all knees shall bow, and all tongues shall confess that Jesus is lord. That name was exalted above all other names. Whoever is using that name to perform great things must therefore be deriving his/her authority directly from Jesus, therefore a friend not an enemy.

How does Jesus define greatness, and is caring for a little child an example of greatness?
To Jesus, the greatest ought to be the least. Jesus likened himself to a child - helpless- and emphasises that to receive such a child was the same as receiving God the father too. The disciples needed to trim their sizes, to fit the kingdom.

Following Jesus is a daily commitment to holiness. I would be keener to the end. I know we are mortal sinners, often falling to temptations, despite full knowledge of the scriptures. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak - responding easily to the desires of the flesh, rather than the spirit, and that is what I often find myself to be. But in reality, the transfiguration, and the sight of Moses and Elijah, as well as the voice from heaven, would be a spiritual empowerment to me. It would be useful as a strengthening tool, when I am weak. Amen
