Why did the people ask Jesus to leave their region after they heard about the pigs?
They were afraid of touching Jesus. They had heard about the authority of Jesus. Now they were face to face with him who had already healed a madman of extreme strength they knew only too well. Besides, those who witnessed this episode were publicly attesting to the fact. The people of Gadara were simply too scared to host Jesus, whom they feared might deal with more of their demons, after seeing 2000 pigs drowned. The request to leave gadara, was a polite way of keeping out of suspected trouble, and Jesus also obeyed, to save them further embarashment.

How did the disciples` fear before the storm differ from their fear after the storm?
First fear was the fear of death. Their human confidence waned off when they noticed Jesus simply enjoying a nap, with head on a cushion, when they faced death from the storm. I do not know whether waking up Jesus was to make him aware that death was around the corner, or whether they thought he could do anything about their survival. Their second fear was the realisation that Jesus acted supernaturally, as even the winds and the sea obeyed him. Their human eyes were begining to see the divinity of Jesus, not as just mere man. The second fear was a holy fear, while the first fear was a fleshy fear, I guess. Amen

What does the contrast between the small seed and huge bush teach you about the kingdom of God?
Do not underlook humble beginnings. Start small -grow big; The journey of a thousand kilometers starts with the first step. Those are imaginations in my mind about the small seed. That seed is incorruptible, that is why it will grow and not decay or perish. The growth is slow but sure, and there is no end in sight about its growth. However small this seed in you might be, like a monster, it will grow on and on, until it becomes a landmark tree, able to accommodate and support a diversity of life. My lesson is to appreciate that I have at least the word of God, however small. My firm hope is in it to become a spiritual giant one day for the Lord`s glory. Amen.
