 | When religious leaders accused Jesus of working on the day of rest (Jesus), why did Jesus get so angry? |
Jesus had every reason to get angry at those Pharisees. First, they kept the law blindly, without knowing what the sabbath was meant for. Secondly, their priorities were lopsided, ie, keeping the law vis a vis saving life or doing good. Thirdly, their intensions fell short of recognising the Lordship of Jesus. Lastly, when put to task with a question, they simply kept quiet. Jesus was burning with the desire to do good-to heal, while they were burning with the conspiracy to kill. Jesus had to express his anger as a way of dealing with that yeast of the Pharisees. God bless you. By: Robert Ochen-Chagara Category: Lord of the Sabbath |
