What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

The background of Jesus it surprise how God cares for his people, imagin you see how herod wanted to kill our savior when he was not yet finished what let him descend down from heaven,really God is God, and see how God keeps his promises even though the Israelites were subjects at fast to foreign rules but the word of God ramains truth and God lifted them after little while.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Jesus christ, because he tolerates the lowly especially the young as well as the helpless, as he said that the young should be let free to him because the kingdom of God is for the children and the humble who acknowledge their weaknesses and lower them selves these will be uplifted. he ephasises that every body was created in God"s image.
