What is Jesus trying to teach with this parable? Hint: The vineyard (where grapes are grown) is Israel; The farmer is God; the servants are the prophets who were sent by God; the son is Jesus; and the tenants are religious leaders of the Jews.

He wants to insinuate that he will be rejected and killed by the elders, the scribes and religious leaders, not because they do not believe in His word, but because the people believed in him because of the miracles that attestentt that he is the Son of God, the Shepherd, the King of the Jews, they are taken with envy for Jesus calls into question their authority

Why did Jesus answer their question with a question? Why didn`t he just say that his authority came from God?

because the answer to their question is the answer to the question of Jesus, for they treated Jesus and John the same way: they had no faith in them

Jesus taught that both believing and forgiving are key to effective prayer. Why do you think they are important?

Faith, undoubtedly, is useful because prayer is not a collection of words that "address the void", we address a prayer to God, the Almighty, to whom nothing is impossible. Forgiveness is also necessary when we pray because we are all sinners and are unworthy that God will hear our prayers, however, God is willing to forgive us if we have faith in His Son and agree to forgive the sins of others
