Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God? In the beginning when man had fallen in sin that sin has separating him and became faraway from God with spiritually and physical therefor Jesus came to renew this relationship therefore Jesus needs to include physical and emotional pain

Why does Jesus keep telling the disciples that He is about to die? He wanted to see how they can react to the reality that will soon happen to him and the disciples get prepared to live life without Jesus.
Jesus also wanted to gear the disciples to be aware of the mission he came to fulfill on earth.
