When Jesus said, it is finished, what did it refer to? That is, what was finished? Jesus meant the salvation by death on the cross was ended as he felt he was dead.
Jesus also meant that his death was at hand and wanted to say bye.

Why was the crowd so intent on having Jesus crucified? The crowd were supporting the Chief Priests and they are betwitched by the powers of salvation through the cross to shout intently on the crucifixion of Jesus.
