Why did Jesus choose Matthew, a known taxgatherer and a despised man, to be His disciple?

Jesus says, Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, ` for i came not to call the rightesous, but the sinners to repentance. This is the simple reason to why Christ called Matthew.

Why did Jesus first forgive the paralytic`s sins, and only later heal him? What lesson was he trying to communicate?

Jesus knew the paralytic man must have got paralyzed due to the sins he or his ancestors committed. Jesus wanted to communicate to the people that he had authority to forgive sins.

Why did the people ask Jesus to leave, even after He delivered the two demon-possessed men?

They feared he may be dangerous to them by sending them some evil spirits like the pigs.
