Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?

Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,that he was buried,that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement,He did this to demonstrate his justice,in him we have redemption through his blood,the forgiveness of sins.He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree,so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness,by his wounds we are healed.
