How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment? Intimacy means to be so close and share everything you have to someone you love, trust him/her that you tell him/her all the secrets of your heart and fear not to ask whatever you want from. And applying this truth with Jesus our Lover and saviour, He loves us to the extent that He had to give up His life to save us. This is truly great love. Love means also to obey. If we're to love we have to obey and if we're to obey we should love. They're inseparable. Jesus commanded us to obey Him and this applies our true love if we're to obey; and therefore love also includes intimacy. It's all one thing. Jesus loves us and we love Him expressing our love with our obedience and intimately we perform the act of love and obedience. May God bless you dear ones.
