Compassionate is another word expressing Love.

Jesus is the only and perfect example of being compassionate toward others as explained on the course. We're also expected to follow His examples to Love and be compassionate toward our fellow brethren and other people. No one is able to become compassionate unless he/she is devoted to read the word of God and pray fervently. Jesus said " Follow my examples" so shall we do. May God bless each one of us with His enabling grace.

How come the unbelief of His countrymen prevented Jesus from performing many mighty works among them?

Jesus knew that they would not believe as they are his home town people. He said, 'A prophet is not accepted in his own home town' to mean that even if he does signs and speaks wisdom they will refer to his parents and sisters as known here instead of seeing him as the son of God.
