Why was the Kingdom of God taken away from the chief priests and Pharisees? They had rejected Jesus and his teaching and by doing that they were also rejecting God. By doing this they were unable to bear fruit and so were not productive. They also wanted to kill Jesus and so the kingdom was taken from them because they didn't deserve it.
