He spent this time explaining how valuable we are to God and how much he loves us.. And when it was his time to die even though he already knew what was going to happen to him because of his love for us he still went forward and died an embarrassing death just for us to one day spend eternity with us. So to me Jesus is the true defination of love and how we ought to be.. We have to follow his example because if he himself being God obeyed God the father then we also have to obey him out of love.

Why is giving in secret more to be commended that giving where people can see it? The main reason is to avoid pride because many people fall down because of pride and it also makes the one being given feel much better than when everyone knows that the dress he/she is wearing was donated by somebody.Our God knows what's best for us but He doesn't want us to fall because of pride.
