They were confident that he is a liar. Jews, did not want to admit that as Abraham was their greatest father. They did not know Jesus or God himself. Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment? Christ died on the cross for our sins to show the love he had for us and His commandment was to love Him and others. He paid the debt that we could never pay. So God asks us to repay that debt of love by loving the poeple that he loves so much
