How did (does) repenting prepare someone for the Kingdom of God?

Repenting means: "be sory of your sins", & turn away from your sins" Change of mind and start a new life. Repenting preapares someone for the kingdom of God in the sense that one is able to understand Jesus much better at the same time ready for the babtism of the Holy Spirit. When one repents, he/she is able to live a righteous , peaceful and joyful life in the kingdom of God " Romans 14 Vs 17".

How did Joseph know it was a real angel appearing to him in his dreams, and not just , for example, indigestion?

Joseph knew it was a real angel appearing to him in his dreams, and not just, for axample, indigestion by what the angel revealed to him about the death of Herod. The angel did not just talk about the death of Herod but also warned Joseph to come out of Galilee and live in Nazareth to fulfil the old testament prophets that Jesus was to born a Nazarene. Joseph was conviced by what the angel said as everything revealed became a reality.

Why did Herod try to kill Jesus?

Herod wanted to defend his post as a king of that time at the same time felt mocked by the wise men and was very angry to hear about the birth of Jesus. Any way , this was also to fulfil the old testament Prophet. Amen!!
