What point is Jesus making when He states "eternal life" is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ?

Jesus's point here is that He is God the son the creator of the universe. He is claiming that He was there before the earth existed. Jesus is God the provider of life. He accoplished that which He came for to give life in its fullness " John 10 Vs 10". Jesus has all authority given to Him from God the father to give erternal life to all who believe in Him. When one know God (Daniel 11 Vs 32) and believe in Jesus (2 Cholonicles 20 Vs 20) God will give him/her erternal life. Believe in only true God who gave authority to Jesus that you receive erternal life. Definately, you will have life in its fullness " John 10 Vs 10"

How can we experience the peace Jesus promised when we are in difficult circumstances?

We will (can) experience the peace Jesus promised when we pray for all we need; having in mind that Jesus will provide all to make our joy full. Not only that but also our sorrowfulness which will turn into happiness (joy) and that no one will remove this joy from us. The world (unbelievers) will even not oppress us but we will always cheer up (rejoice) in the Lord Jesus (Philipians 4 Vs 4) at the same time overcome the world in the name of Jesus (James 4 Vs 7).

In what ways is it better to have the Holy Spirit with us, than to have Jesus` physical presence on earth?

In the old testament, we see God the father speaking through the prophets. In the new testament, we see God speaking through God the son (Jesus) and in the same new testament , God the father also speaks through God the Holy Spirit (the power of God). God is trinity thus God the Father , the son and the Holy Spirit. This time around, it is better to have the Holy Spirit with us because Jesus has accomplished His task physically on earth. This is to our advantage so that the Conselor (Holy Spirit) should come to accomplishe the trinity of God. Not only that but also to convict the world (sinners) of sin because of not believing in Jesus, about righteousness because Jesus is going to God the father who sent Him and also about judgement because the prince of this world is judged. Jesus taught many things on earth but some people could not understand Him; therefore, it is better to have the Holy Spirit to guide the believers in all the truth and declare the future kingdom of God.
