What did Jesus imply by saying, "This is my blood of the new coveneant, which is poured out for many."? Consider that the Passover was a Jewish festival that remembered when a plague of death "passed over" the home of those Jewish people who marked their doors with blood from a lamb. Jews remembered this day with a feast of unleavened bread.

He died on a cross of Calvary, where He spilled His blood for the forgiveness of the sins of all mankind. It is an acknowledgement that Jesus made to His disciples that everytime they are having communion they should do it in rememberence of Him.

Why does Jesus consider this woman`s desire to please Jesus more important than giving to the poor?
Jesus considered this woman's desire to please Him more important than giving to the poor, because people will always be poor on earth, but Jesus in His physical form was only on earth that once. Without the women knowing it, she prepared Jesus for His burial, which was only a once in a lifetime experience, while others would have sold the ointment for money for the poor which they would still see everyday.

Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future?
Jesus encourages us to focus on daily tasks, to pray and to watch, because we do not know when the time is. Jesus doesn't want us to worry about the future, and therefore warns us to always be on our gaurd and pray. Only God knows when his Son will return.
